Lakers turn to DeMarcus Cousins after Kawhi Leonard failure - New York Post

The Lakers have their Big Three.

DeMarcus Cousins on Saturday agreed to a one-year deal with the Lakers, where the oft-injured center will team up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, according to ESPN.

The Heat also had interest in Cousins, who played just 38 games total with the Warriors last season, including the playoffs, after returning from surgery to repair a torn Achilles. But Davis and other Lakers helped convince Cousins, who also battled a quad injury, to join them in Los Angeles instead.

The move comes less than a day after the Clippers landed Kawhi Leonard — whom the Lakers had been heavily courting — and Paul George.

Cousins averaged 16.3 points, 3.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 assists during the regular season.
