Nearly 48 hours later, and the sports world is still trying to wrap its collective head around the fact that Andrew Luck is now a former NFL quarterback.
The 29-year-old Luck made the shocking announcement on Saturday, citing mental fatigue and loss of love for the game as the main reasons for walking away. While perplexed, most around the league understood or at least empathized with Luck's decision. Some others did not and took a less dignified approach. There was also plenty of blame to go around for ex-GM Ryan Grigson, who never gave his franchise cornerstone the protection he needed. But that's now all in the past. With just two weeks until the start of the season, the Colts must move forward with Jacoby Brissett, who is certainly a capable backup. But he also is not someone who is in Luck's class when it comes to on-field talent. Not many are.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. Luck's NFL career may have spanned only seven seasons, but he was sure to make all of them count. In NFL history, a QB has thrown for 4,500 or more yards in a season on 58 occasions, something Luck was able to accomplish twice. So with that in mind, how many of those 58 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
